Did the recent revelation (according to a PlayStation.com survey) that Sony is considering including the first two God of War games in the God of War 3 Collector's Edition get your hopes up for high-def renditions of these classic action titles? Well it's time to get your hopes down a little, as Sony has responded that the survey is just that -- only a survey, and not nearly confirmation.
"It is simply a marketing survey. The goal of it is to do focus group testing," representatives of SCEA said to Kotaku. "We're just trying to find out what would resonate with the God of War community." The reps also stated that despite the results of the survey, much depends on whether converting the games could be done (at least done efficiently and in time, one assumes). "If that was the number one requested thing, that would be something they would need to see if that was most technically feasible," SCEA said.

"Obviously with Blu-ray, we're able to put more content on the disc. But in terms of having seen God of War II on a Blu-ray disc on a debug and playing it that way, no, that's not something I've seen," one rep responded.

So for now, don't count on it happening, but do keep your fingers crossed. Of course, the more votes they get on the survey, the more inclined Sony will likely be to make it happen. Get those fingers clicking.
