You can find every item used here on ebay !

Before you read on this thread was created by me . Dr.fox On NGU .
If you decided to use a LagSwitch it is not my fault if you get caught using it !
If you see this on any other forum let me know !
I hope this has helped you in some kind of way.

[multipage=What is a Lag switch]
What is a lag switch?
The technical and professional way of explaining it:

A lag switch is a mechanism installed on a home network that allows you to insert delays into the flow of local traffic to the Internet.

What does this mean?
If you are host in a game, EG. Call of Duty blackops, And you have a lag switch installed, you simply press the switch which freezes everybody in game. Whilst you on the other hand can still move , run up to the person and kill them , then you flick the switch back and the lag stops. When you flick the switch , it is stopping data from being submitted.

Heres a video to show you what im speaking about:

As you can see it shows what the person with the lag switch sees and what everybody else sees. Credits to 'ZachIsInDaHousee'
[multipage=How to make a lagswitch]
Ok Now you are wondering how to make a lag switch. I'll show you how...

If you are not good at making things/lazy/have money/not confident doing this, you could alternativly buy one. Check the next chapter if you wish.

How much will it cost making one my self?
Making one yourself will cost you from £3.00 (it will cost more for a longer cable and bigger / better switch), Thats about $5.00

Buying one will cost you from £8.00 , Thats about $13.
Of course if you buy one it will look alot neater if your messy , and its not hassle for you.

Tools needed: (press on the item for a link of where to buy)

  • You must login or register to view this content.
  • Wire strippers (not needed)
  • A switch of some sort
  • Electrical tape /Duct tape (optional but recommended)
  • Soldering iron & solder (not needed)

Notes:
The person selling the Ethernet cable is a person on ebay , he is a trusted member of ebay. He sells Ethernet cables just browse his items. If your in the us search Ethernet cable , Or CAT5.
For the other items just search ebay , the items to buy arnt hard to find and you can find them in alot of stores .
Please refer to both tutorials as that way you will clearly understand what you are doing !

Written tutorial :
1.Get your Ethernet cable and find roughly the middle.
2.Get your wires strippers/knife or you can use your teeth and bite part of the cable then you can peel away the casing with your fingers.You should see a wad of wires like this: You must login or register to view this content.
3. Peel away a decent amount of incasing to make sure you have enough wire to work with.
4. Locate the orange wire. You must login or register to view this content.
5.Cut the orange wire and separate it from the white wire
6.Strip the orange wire ,revealing the copper wire underneath.
7.Connect the copper wire around the metal connecters on the switch . In the image imagine the orange is the wire.You must login or register to view this content.
Securely connect them by soldering them , or tightly wraping the wire around it . If you use a light switch you simply wrap it around. I used that switch for mine , but many others use lightswitches.
8.Secure everything and tape up exposed wires etc, make sure there are no loose connections.
9.Finished

[multipage=How to set it up]
Ok there are two ways to set up your lagswitch. One way is free , but may not be a good idea (ill explain) and the other way will cost you an extra £5.

Option one:
You must login or register to view this content.
Plug the Lag switch into the modem , then into the router. Connect to console to the network. When you flick the switch it will lag everyone on your network (not good if your brother is on his laptop)

Option two:
You must login or register to view this content.
Self explanatory , Only creates lag for the ps3 , but costs more because you need the network splitter.

Search for tutorials on how to get host , it varies for different games.
[multipage=How to use a lagswitch]
Now this is the easy part, Once you've got it all set up and plugged in , theres two options. Tape it to the back of your controller, and flick it on and off. Or put it on the floor and press it with your foot like a footpedal.
[multipage=Where to buy Lagswitches?]
I recommend ebay. There are many sites out there but this guy is good You must login or register to view this content. . Sells all different lengths.

This is a very good and well written tutorial. I most likely won't use it, but it was good. Also, you should ask a mod to move this to the Lag Switch section. It's down below the CoD sections.

Wow noob, just shut up. Don't talk shit about a thread you don't even understand. He worked hard on it, and all you do is post pictures saying it was shit. I guarantee you didn't even read half of it. And you are a newfag, look at your join date /facepalm.
