Post: reading a PS3 HDD in a PC

(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); So, I've heard of (failed) attempts at reading the internal HDD of a PS3 with a PC (linux, windows, & osx), and I was wondering if anyone has attempted to extract the data from the HDD in a different method. Allow me to explain the scenario for this thought. I accidentally deleted several items (specifically, save games) from the internal drive. Would it be possible to install the drive to my PC and use a cluster recovery program like "PC INSPECTOR FILE RECOVERY" You must login or register to view this content.
To extract the deleted data, then put it back onto the HDD via Comgenie or the like?

Any thoughts or experience doing this would be appreciated. Thanks.

In Flames Much?
Won't work.....
Your need to decode that HDD format before looking at any of the data
Right now no software can do that.

That was why my idea specifically refers to cluster recovery since it pays no mind to the filesystem at all. It simply extracts data by polling the SATA port (or USB, or any other input medium) with complete disregard for filesystem, partion structure, or anything else. I have succesfully done this with a GUID partitoned Mac drive and was able to recover data directly to my PC, although the PC could not recognize the drive itself.
