If you somehow own a PC or Xbox 360 and Fallout 3, but don't have an Internet connection, then this deal is for you. Electronic Theater (via VG247) reports that Bethesda is planning to release The Pitt and Operation: Anchorage DLC on a single disc at retail. They report the package will be released in the U.K. on May 29, and a listing on Amazon.com shows a North American date of May 26 for the PC and Xbox 360, with the disc priced at $19.99 (both DLC packs cost $10 bucks via download).
Note that the cover of the 360 version says a storage unit is required to play, meaning either a hard drive or memory unit. The cover also advertises that it comes packaged with a free Vault Boy poster, which those who choose to purchase this disc at retail can lord over their 21st Century digital distribution-loving friends.
The obvious question raised by this package, though, is where this leaves the third upcoming DLC pack for Fallout 3, Broken Steel. Will Bethesda release it as its own retail disc in the future? Why didn't they just include it on this single disc, especially considering it'll release digitally on May 5 -- well before this disc hits stores? We'll pass on any more clarifying details when Bethesda provides them.
