Another question, i heard that if i call Sony and give them a code from a slim i can send in my Fat PS3 and i will get a slim back. Is that true ?

No, the drive has nothing to do with the YLOD. When I had my YLOD Sony said that there is a metal strip that burns out in the PS3. If it is still under warranty send it to Sony and they can replace it .You have to have a blu ray drive from the same model PS3.

If your YLOD PS3 is sent in to Sony, they will try to fix it, and if it is not fixable, they will either send you a new one free, give you a discount, or tell you that you need to go buy another one.



So first step on finding out is SEND IT INTO SONY!
