Would i be safe if i jus sent it in?

Well in the safety manuel it says not to put the ps3 up against a wall or else it could overheat easily. So you should rap your ps3 in towels like you said and put it up against a wall, or put something solid behind it, like a textbook or something. Should stop the air flow and help it overheat.

LOL. Bad idea. When they send back your new ps3, its gonna have the same HDD. They did that to us. Then we sent it back and got a new ps3 with a new HDD.

wait what, they are sending you a PS3 FIRST? or, you have to send them your PS3 so they can fix it? fixing it won't solve the problem, a new one will. Hell, a new one with your old hard drive would work the best. I don't know what he's saying ^^.. black ops doesn't ban your hard drive

well, throw that bitch in da oven Cool Man (aka Tustin)

or the others idea would work good. keep it on with it against the wall so the fan gets no circulation with towels around it on the carpet. get that shit heated :O

hopefully after a week it will die =D

Put it a box and then pack it full of towels. It will heat up super fast. And yes they will check your system when you send it in.
