Also to add in, sony can't do anything with your IPs. First of all, your IP will give them the location of your ISP. They then have to subpoena your ISP to get the location of you. To get a subpoena they need to have reasonable cause. "Finding hackers" is not reasonable cause. ISPs won't even release child predator's locations without a subpoena.
