Hey everyone at "NGU"

I found some information as pertaining to the next game in the "Dead Space" franchise. It's too early to know much about the next game, but we all know it's coming in the near future.

Read on below for whole story,

Publisher wants to get back in the action game.

As Electronic Arts tries to solidify its presence in the first-person genre with new Battlefield and Medal of Honor titles, the publisher is also looking to boost its action game library considerably.

Speaking to IGN in an interview last week, EA Games President Frank Gibeau said that while he's pleased with the success Dead Space 2 has seen commercially in early 2011, he still believes there's more room for growth with the series. Gibeau applauded Capcom's efforts of taking Resident Evil to the mass-market and hopes Dead Space can follow suit.

"The Resident Evil series was awesome, the early versions were phenomenal. [Capcom] did a good job of growing the franchise to a very large market," Gibeau said. "I think we still have some areas to grow with Dead Space in terms of trying to reach a broader audience without losing the quality and that survival-horror mechanic. That's how we're going to think about it as we think about Dead Space 3 and what we do next with the IP."

EA hopes lightning strikes twice this year as it prepares to launch its second action title in June, Shadows of the Damned. Famed Grasshopper Manufacture producer Suda 51 teamed up with Resident Evil creator Shinji Mikami for the project, which takes grindhouse-style spin on the genre.

"Overall, we want to try and grow the business in the action category," Gibeau later explained. "EA doesn't really have a very strong stake there; survival-horror kind of lives in that genre. 3rd-person action is something that we think we can build and our Visceral Games team is really working hard at crafting some new IPs as well as building out ones that have succeeded."

Gibeau said the publisher is thinking long-term for the survival-horror brand. "Horror movies are great films; it's a genre that's been around for decades. We think the same holds true for interactive," he added.

In my own opinion I don't see why they don't continue the franchise and keep innovating too make every game better, I just hope they keep things original and gameplay and just change up a few things too make the game overall fresh every time you play through it.

I think were heading toward a "Role Playing Game" survival horror type for the next game, where your able too make decisions like your able to in other major EA titles such as (Mass Effect, Dragon Age) It's far fetch but it may happen.

This is only my opinion as I stated, feel free too leave your comments below and what you would like to see in the next "Dead Space" game.

Thanks for reading :p

I got DeadSpace2 and I have played it twice, never again will I take advise of the guy at the shop because he asked me if I played Black Ops and I said, "who doesn't" then he said "If you play Black Ops zombies then you'll love DeadSpace because its just like zombies appart from they are aliens, you play as a soldier or alien" Then I thought that would be really cool if i could try and eat my friends as a alien. But anyways I brought it and played it and I never want to see it again. However this is just my opinion thoe. :p

The story was amazing and was well received by so many critics. On the other hand I believe your talking about the online portion with the aliens of some sort. From my experience and some are with me on this, the online part of the game was not so good, but the reason the game is such a big success is because the story was so in-depth.

I believe they need to implement a Mass Effect feel to it, meaning that you make the decision of who to save and so on. It would be sick. Oh and let me not forget I hope the god there is no multiplayer.

Just my opinion, and thanks for reviving this old post! :p :y:

At least I can fight
Hopefully this means something, i never played dead space 1 i mean never one time ago i glimpse my cousin playing part 1 on ps3 going for a trophy with this brute looking monster. I heard that part 2 was coming out so i say let me just get it, i really enjoyed the game as it took gaming to a whole new level, the storyline the graphics and the controllers not to mention the gameplay was awesome. At a point of time i got tired because the chapters are sometimes long and was so much i think 14 i stop on chapter 9 for atleast 2 weeks after that i went back onto playing it. I loved the ending as well as you didn't see it coming and i know some people was expecting more but however my point of view i loved it.

I think everyone should play these games at least once. I loved the setting as it made things a lot eerier....alot like watching the first Alien film where this spaceship is completely deserted and you dont know what is going to jump out on you next. There was this point in the first game where you are in an area where you are high up on some ramps that go around in a circle and there was this noise like a lead pipe hitting a metal grate so I shit myself thinking something was coming for me and nothing came for like 2 minutes and then all of sudden a ton of these alien thingies started coming out of the vents. I loved the way it lulls you into a false sense of security and then tricks you. Very atmospheric game ......i havent played Dead Space 2 but Im sure this would even more awesome.
