Perished means destroyed, I believe you mean Pre-Owned, as you can't buy a game when some tard broke the disc on Youtube for publicity and then sells it back to Gamestop or Something for $2.

Same as a EA pass is it not? It lets you sample the game to a certain level then you must redeem your code or buy the pass.

EA do this with all their games, it's so they can make more money as they don;t get anything for the sales of Pre-Owned Games. It does, in a way, stop piracy by the slightest bit.
