Yeah Kakaroto's said that in his twitter that they removed the need for lv2 and now have a .2. But your still better off updating cause 3.60 has the same chance as getting hacked as 3.56. Kakaroto also announced that he found a way to get cfw on all future firmwares but it would take a few months of work and testing before he released.

Update unless you don't want to play any games online. Personally, I'd update and pick up another system that is on 3.55 or earlier for data transfer at a later date.
