Here is our list of the top ten upcoming FPS games coming out in 2011. It really is quite a list and it's going to be hard to find all the time needed to try them all.
10) DOOM 4 - id Software - TBD 2011
It's DOOM, do you need to know anything else? With luck this will be a great game but I do have some hesitation after seeing what happened with the rebooted Wolfenstein series.
9) Medal of Honor 2 - Danger Close/EA - TBD 2011
I'll be honest, I didn't really care so much for MOH. The single-player had some good moments and really picked up at the end which was good. The multiplayer was a huge with too much arcade action and style which was bad. Hopefully they make the whole game better with a more cohesive SP campaign and a more serious MP game that you actually want to play.

Rage - id Software/Bethesda - Fall 2011
Sort of a mix between COD and Motorstorm, Rage should be a hoot. The ability to customize your car sounds like an interesting twist to add to an FPS game and while I'm not sure if it will compliment or complicate the game too much I'm willing to give it a try.

7) Brink - Splash Damage/Bethesda - Spring 2011
The style of Brink is what first catches your eye I think. It's not animated the same way Borderlands was but it does feature hyper-realistic characters that have a touch of animation in vivid detail. It's unique. There's also the crazy action so overall it's an interesting package.

6) Duke Nukem Forever - 3D Realms/Gearbox/2K- Spring 2011
Now here's a game that you should try just because it's taken over a decade to even make. The latest, and final, version is being wrapped up with help from Gearbox and it should take Duke to the next level. Honestly, hearing Duke say "It's time to kick ass and chew bubble gum... and I'm all outta gum" is enough for me to get this game.

5) Ghost Recon: Future Soldier - Ubisoft - TBD 2011
Ghost Recon was my first FPS in the current generation of modern shooters. Sure I played MOHA and the original COD but I really didn't get into shooters until Ghost Recon and that was a disc that came free with a new graphics card. While the game has suffered a bit after some sloppy sequels the latest looks much better from what I've seen.

4) Crysis 2 - Crytek/EA - Spring 2011
You remember the original Crysis right? Amazing looking gaming that brought your PC to it's knees. It was the game that really pushed the envelope when it came to graphics. Let's not forget about the nano-suit which is still pretty cool. The next edition in the series has you battling in multiple locations, even New York City. The engine has been optimized so you might even get to play this at more than 10FPS... or you could just buy it for console this time around.

3) Conduit 2 - Sega - Spring 2011
What, an FPS for Wii makes it into the top 3?? Yes. It's not easy making more sophisticated games for the Wii, games for adults if you will. Sega came through sort-of with the first Conduit and the second looks like a much better game with beefed up online capabilities. While it's no Killzone 3, it's a game you should have on your list if you have a Wii.

2) Call of Duty: MW3 - Infinity Ward/Activision - Fall 2011
While there is little to go we know from looking at the past there will be a new COD game this Fall from Infinity Ward. Will it try to compete with BF3 or is Activision going to make them go a different route? What is known is that this game will sell millions of copies on the first day and maybe even set records (once again).
1) Battlefield 3 - DICE/EA - Fall 2011
Our number one FPS for 2011 is Battlefield 3 - the true successor to Battlefield 2 which remains one of the best FPS games of all time. Coming back in BF3 are squads, going prone and playing on 64 player dedicated servers. There is also the matter of a single-player campaign which will be great to have around when the EA servers go down...
