Ok lets get started so first of all lets start at your ps3:
1.Go to settings>network settings>internet connection settings.
2.So go custom and choose whether you are wired or wireless.
3.Scan for your SSID then select your router.
4.Enter your security pass(if you have one)
5.Now this is the tricky bit(kind of)click manual and enter the following settings:
IP Address 192.168.1.80
Subnet Mask 255.255.255.0
Default router 192.168.1.1
Primary DNS 208.67.222.222
Secondary DNS 208.67.220.220
You have now set a static IP so that should eliminate those pesky DNS errors. But wait we're not finished yet!
6.Set your MTU as automatic(i know 1492 is the default for routers but we're not finished!)
7.Set your proxy server as do not use(unless you have a reason to do so)
8.And DISABLE UPnP!!!
9.Save your settings but wait!!!!! Dont do an internet connection test!!!!
Now for the computer bit.
10.In the address bar at the top enter your gateway, this is usually 192.168.1.1
10.Now look for any mentioning of primary and secondary DNS(it is usually in DHCP)and enter the following:
Primary DNS 208.67.222.222
Secondary DNS 208.67.220.220
11.Now in security disable SPI and Firewall.
12.Now look for any mentioning of DMZ(it is in NAT for me), once you are there select the radio button 'SINGLE'.
13.Once you have done that click the DMZ button and enter the following:
Set DMZ as enabled
IP Address 192.168.1.80
now click submit.
14. Once the settings have saved press circle on your ps3 and turn your ps3 OFF.
15. Turn your router OFF.
16. Turn your computer OFF.
17. Leave all of them for a few minutes and turn them back on in this order:
Router
Ps3
Computer
18.Do a connection test on your ps3, great isn't it? An extra mb is there!!!
You have successfully put your ps3 in a Demilitarzed zone(DMZ) which will increase priority to your ps3 and have given your ps3 a static IP to get rid of those pesky DNS Errors!!!
