(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); My ps3 was just struck with the ylod just now and i was wondering if i could take my hdd out and place it into a slim? I have a 500gb hdd that i placed in my 80gb, four years ago, but will it be able to work?

If not is there any other way to get my data back onto another ps3

Try man it really depends. My 120Gb slim HDD won't fit into my new 160Gb HDD slot. It really depends man =D Give it a shot to see if it works. Smile

If you buy like Arctic silver or a thermal paste you can open your fat PS3 to the NAND Chip, and if you correctly apply the paste this can fix it, the paste on your YLOD PS3 is shot right now, meaning it's dried up and starting to crack :O
