Not to mention, most people's IP Address can be gained pretty easily. Anytime you visit a website there is a chance your IP address is being recorded. Ever wonder how those various signatures can geographically track your ISP location?
It's not like getting your IP address is going to reveal who you are, your age, where you live, your phone number, and all that. They'd have to actually get a subpoena for your ISP to get that information (which they won't get).
All they get to know is, "This IP Address traces back to this ISP Provider in this town.".
