Although it is expected for the most popular game in the business to receive the most criticism, Infinity Ward, Sledgehammer and Raven Software should not turn a blind eye to the community outcries. It is a very real possibility that new games such as Battlefield 3, which is gaining hype as the next potential “COD Killer,” could knock Call of Duty of its pedestal without some changes in the formula. We’ve come up with a list that explores the various aspects of Call of Duty that need to be fixed or at least looked into for the benefit of the game.

Here are 6 ways the eighth installment of Call of Duty can stay on top of the competition.

1: Improve connection issues

This is by far the most important issue challenging the franchise at this point. For many, including myself, the multiplayer experience is tarnished by the ridiculous lag and connection problems found in Call of Duty: Black Ops. Developers need to put time into fixing the connection problem. Understandably it will probably take a lot of time and effort, but this issue deserves it.

2: Have a public multiplayer beta

This has been a complaint over the last two years which really has not been addressed at all by developers. Public betas are the easiest ways to point out flaws in a game before the game comes out, and many games are given constructive criticism that really help the game in the long run. For multiplayer, throw the players into a beta game of Team Deathmatch on two maps, giving the players three to five pre-made classes to play with. This will definitely cut down on the work throwing out patches for things that should be fixed already.

3: Have huge amount of weapons to choose from

We need every single gun has its own discernible characteristics that makes it fun to use. Crazy combinations of weapons you could use, which while not practical in the slightest, were a hell of a lot of fun. The weapons that should return are Assault rifles, light machine guns, sub-machine guns, sniper rifles, shotguns, launchers and a lot special weapons. Bring some new weapon on every new maps release.

4: Get rid of the “noob tube” and other cheap tactics

Aspects like the grenade launcher infuriate every single Call of Duty fan I know, and it needs to be scrapped, for good. This goes the same for Last Stand. Seriously, Treyarch? You are going to let them get up after dying now? Insanity.

5: Don’t get rid of Treyarch’s contributions

Say what you want about Treyarch as a developer, but some of the things they’ve introduced to Call of Duty have been outstanding like Zombie mode, Wager game. Don’t get rid of those. There’s nothing stopping developers from adding own modes alongside the zombie mode and wager match.

6. An Announcement

We need an announcement as soon as possible so we will determine the details and concerns related to modern warfare 3. According to a latest rumor form UK magazine PSM3, The first snippet of Modern Warfare 3 gameplay may be with them in April.

This is my list:

1. Dedicated servers.
This one pretty much speaks for itself. Just look at how you never get any lag on bfbc2 for example.

2. Quickscoping.
You easily get bored just running around with fully autos.

3. More customization/ Modding.
This is going to be a huge step and I doubt this is going to happen because of cheating/hacking. Changing field of view, adding custom wep camos, map skins, etc. A map editor would make me cry. Just look at cod4, the game has all sorts of cool mods zombie mod on mw2 maps, promod and more.

4. Focusing on the fun aspect.
I dont feel like im having fun when playing black ops. Adding different weapons like the riot shield, (had an extremly amount of fun with it) or some different perks like one man army (removing noobtubes ofcourse). Adding some different weapons like shotguns, fun guns (ray gun, baloon sword) or something may help aswell.

5. Beta for the persons that have pre-ordered it.
A beta would be nice so we can remove those bullshit guns/perks like ghost, second chance and generally give some feedback on the game.

Tubes have been pissed on completely in Black Ops. 1st the weaken them 2nd you cant have a 2nd attachment with tubes 3rd they add the time limit between shooting them 4th they over power flat jacket making it impossible to kill somebody with a grande launcher when they have it on. That person can take 2 tubes, 1 grenades and still not die which is complete BS.

They are not realistic they are a weapon used by every army. So to say remove it heck why not remove knifes? Grenades as well. Kill streaks? If you wanna bitch about a weapon then why don't we take out all the other weapons that get one hit kills?

I agree with some of it like connections, map editor said above, public beta, Treyarchs features. It definitely needs a whole new feature like the custom games you can make in Halo.
