SCEA's charming CEO Jack Tretton had an interview with Fortune Magazine and basically talked trash about all of PlayStation's competitors.

"If you're really going to sustain technology for a decade, you have to be cutting edge when you launch a platform," Tretton explained. This is a logical point, but when a company like Nintendo isn't influenced by cutting-edge technology like the PS3 or NGP but is still selling more consoles, it shouldn't give Sony the right to talk smack.

But the Playstaion chief continued his shit-talking at his competitors, he called motion gaming "cute" (Despite the PlayStation 3 and NGP having motion controllers). He also stated technologies powering the 360 and the Wii are quickly becoming irrelevant - Which I agree with, the Wii for me seems to be too much of a last generation system with it being a standard definition and not as graphically impressive as other games in this current generation. As for the 360, they seem to be pushing their products in the right direction, which is good because it gets their products sold, so no idea what Tretton's on about on that side of the market.

Well... Zone HD, you also trashed talk about PS3 aswell and i have to correct you quite a few times, even you don't know what the hell you talking about. Jack Tretton may talk trash this time round but atlease he got the main point and better statement than yours.

Back to Topic

This article is very interesting and I agree with Jack, the Playstation 3 is the best console of this generation and its starting to show by the lagging sales of the Wii and 360. As for the handheld market, the NGP is more interesting to me then the 3DS mostly cause I feel the 3DS is a gimmick and a attempt for Nintendo to cash in on the whole 3D phenomenon and it helps that the NGP has some pretty sweet tech/specs, features, and launch titles.

The 360 ran out of steam ages ago. The only thing that’s kept it going it’s Xbox Live. That was the defining feature Microsoft introduced this generation and thanks to it they were able to overcome the biggest manufacturing disaster in electronics history. But if you take “content” alone into consideration, since 2008 you’d be hard-pressed to find 3 award-caliber games for the 360, and I’m talking about real exclusives. You could mention Mass Effect 2, but it’s always been on PC and it’s on PS3 now too. What else is left? Left 4 Dead? Not worthy. Halo Reach? Miserable. Fable 3? Gears 2? Forza 3? Nice titles, I won’t deny it, but nothing but a bunch of sequels that didn’t impress as much as the original games. And well, that’s really it for the 360′s library since 2008!

but then again i remember the XBOX360 guy (i forgot his name) that does the Microsoft E3 conference throwing jabs of their own when the XBOX360 was beating Playstation 3 sales, so i guess its all good, but it isnt sony’s usual style to be that way.

i am not a playstation hater.

I have 2 PSones, 1 PS2 and 1 PS3 and a lot of accessories and games.

But let's be honest, the winner of this generation is nintendo wii.

It brought a whole new level of gameplay to the world.

and for xbox 360 and ps3. I don't remember a multi-platform game which is better at ps3 (ff 13 maybe). Yes exclusives for PS3 is great but is it enough?

he should think about that psp arent that great. atleast nintendo has better sales.... psp was a fail, owned by apple. then sony makes a psp go, no succes. then sony do u actually think u will succeed with next psp? i dont

yeah, right. the damn sony developers couldn't even add a damn cross game chat to the system (memory restraints); and he described the ps3 a “cutting edge technology”?
