Post: First Firmware 3.60 Required Game: Portal 2 – Uncrackable and unplayable.
04-15-2011, 06:16 PM #1
(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); The first firmware 3.60 required game is out, known as Portal 2. This game is currently not playable on CFW PS3′s and none of the previous methods have been reported working (such as PARAM.SFO editing, Dean Eboot decrypter). Portal 2 is encrypted using the new FW 3.60 keys and as we know those have not been released/discovered yet (publicly anyways).

Many of you have been asking why does Dragon Age 2 work – the reason is because DA2 was a FW 3.56 required, not FW 3.60.
You must login or register to view this content.

Before there was no need really to find a solution for CFW 3.60, but now that new games being released are demanding the new firmware requirement you can be hopeful that a solution will be out soon.

Let us know your thoughts, ideas and any personal tests you have ran here in attempts to get Portal 2 to run.

Truthfully I don't fully understand peoples comments here

I mean ofcourse its good in the sence of less piracy but now you cant play portal 2 and have/be on cfw (yes even the original portal 2 disc)
until a fix is found/made, hopefully there will be one sometime

What the hell does this have to do with piracy?
Even if you bought the game, you still wouldn't be able to play without updating to 3.60.
I was actually going to buy this game, but it's not worth losing all my homebrew.

And don't wear it out.
Yes, there are much better ways to counter piracy then this.

There are some games that do not work on backup loaders, forcing you to purchase the game instead of downloading it for free.

But seriously- what the hell am I supposed to do here? I've been waiting for this game for what feels like years, and now I find out that even if I buy it, I won't be able to play it without updating my PS3?

Yeah its a real shame, I was wanting to buy that game but I cant because I would have to give up cfw hopefully there will be a fix later on, because this is most likely the start of required 3.60 games
