Do a barrel roll!
(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); My laptop is about three years old. Thing overheats constantly (no surprise, I use it at work and then when I get home, so it's on 10+ hours a day) It still functions, but it's obviously not that great.*

*I can't stream Netflix on this without having major buffering issues., DiVX streams are out of the question, etc.

That being said, I heard that the Hauppauge HD PVR 1212 didn't require a lot from your computer in order to work properly; in that it'd work with any old crappy computer. Is this true?

Dude, My laptop used to overheat like that and sh!t too. Just take a can of air and spray the vent holes where the computer breathes out @. It will get all the dust and dirt that clogged all up in it. My laptop is like 3 years old too. I had it for like a year and then it started overheatin and being slow and so I took it to bestbuy where I had bought it and the 1st thing they done was dust it out with a can of air like I had told you and after they done that they said take it home and see how it does. I took it home and bam ran beautifully.
