Do a barrel roll!
(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); My laptop is about three years old. Thing overheats constantly (no surprise, I use it at work and then when I get home, so it's on 10+ hours a day) It still functions, but it's obviously not that great.*

*I can't stream Netflix on this without having major buffering issues., DiVX streams are out of the question, etc.

That being said, I heard that the Hauppauge HD PVR 1212 didn't require a lot from your computer in order to work properly; in that it'd work with any old crappy computer. Is this true?

Well, last time I wen't to best buy I looked at the specs for it and my 8 year old desktop computer met the recomendations for it. I'd highly doubt you'd be able to do editing on it, and rendering the video would probably be a hassle but I'd think it'd be possible. And if it doesn't work keep the receipt :y:

I have a 3-4 year old pc and if you know how to use what you got then you'll be fine.

Just give it a full reboot to clean it all up and I suggest installing vista for some reason.

I have tried:

-Windows XP
-Windows 7
-Windows Vista
-Linux Ubuntu

The best one was vista for an odd reason, I guess my old pc runs better on vista than windows 7 or the Total media extreme (Program to be used with the PVR) is made for Vista.

Yeah but some programs work better on Vista and if you have the RAM it shouldn't be a problem.

According to the website you'd have 14 days to return it. You need to be 18+ to return it and have to bring a valid photo I.D. w/ you. Also, If you pay in cash and the product is $250 or more, the money will be mailed to you.
