At Sony we are currently busy building the new PlayStation Network. Of the reasons Sony is silent as far as possible. IchSpiele.cc has experienced so far not verified source, that the public has become master key was the potentially cause.

was out of previously verified source us a possible reason for all the effort happened: So is the cause of the downtime that firstly decrypts the PlayStation 3-Master Key and published and that one can not rule that admin accounts have been hacked . Therefore, one fear at Sony that games could be on the one hand and the other illegally brought before the release into circulation. Such disclosure would be prevented and in case that it's too late, you want to make the games garbage.

Therefore, according to one source in the process of signing all the download title with a new Master Key. This would mean that after the reopening of the PSN all the data from the PlayStation Store would have to be downloaded again, would affect the downloadable content (DLC) and complete games. For an early firmware update for the PlayStation 3 will come, the deal with Blu-ray sets. These will be identified by their ID and a way function as an exception to the old master key on.

The digital signature prevents non-modified consoles that any code is executed. This is the same copy protection , while ensuring protection of the (closed) system. Who knows but the key can even sign any program in theory, so that the Sony console, she points out, even if it is not jailbroken.

However, there is officially no new information. Only the information previously only available in English, that the reconstruction work of the PSN and it will take a bit longer, was now on the German website nachgepflegt.

The humor we have with Sony, but not lost: After download games for the long Easter weekend have been proposed and the players confused Easter who prefer their gezockt have favorite games much has, at least, the German Twitter channel reason to celebrate : Today night exceeded the number of the 4,500 follower mark - is this text written while, it even has over 5,000

from what i can tell it has nothing to do with rebug, and if what that says is true then apparently they have new games on the servers b4 they are released and dont want them to be leaked. So pretty much the person that hacked in, if sony hadnt caught it, that person would have had access to everything and problly could have stolen psn from sony, ha

It makes total sense that this was reason why they took down the entire network due to the rebug loophole.

Just do a search on google, shouldn't be hard to figure out what you should use for search terms, the information was posted around last Thursday on most the sites that I found the information.

This was major, I wish I post some links to show the extent of how "open" the network was to pirating paid stuff for free from the store but I don't want to encourage or break rules here.

But basically it allowed rebug users to download paid content for free DIRECTLY from PSN store via a URI redirect via a massive list of PSN store content

This was present in all PSN regions...

Since it involves Sony's internal network it would involve taking down service completlely while they fill the holes in the network, which is why Sony has used the WORD REBUILD....

Remember this is Sony, in which they sometimes refer to fighing piracy/hacking as improving the overall playback quality or security patch

this was a security breach in the sense that the pirates found a hole in the system not that they were "attacked"
