------------------------------------------------------- Statement From Sony Coming Soon

If anyone was watching the BBC News channel in the last hour or so hopefully they can verify this, but apparently we can expect a statement from Sony on the PSN outage, including the rumours surrounding customer credit card details, ‘within a couple of hours’.
According to a poster on GAF, the BBC have been in contact with Sony regarding the issues on a regular basis, and are expecting official word soon. That statement is also expected to include a timescale for resumption of services. According to reports on Twitter, the business news segment has just ran a comprehensive story on the whole thing.
We’d expect such a statement to arrive on the official blogs first, as all updates have been doing. We’ll let you know when it arrives, if indeed it does.
Update: further clarification – apparently the BBC correspondent was being continuously told by Sony that they’d issue a press release in ‘a couple of hours’, rather than a specific time frame. In short: don’t expect a response any time soon.

The Japanese Company may also face claims from disgruntled owners of consoles and IP enabled Sony TV's and Blu ray players who have paid to get access to Playstation content to only find that they cannot network with other users during the Easter period when a lot of people are on holiday and want access to content.
Sony has also sold Bravia TV's and Blu ray players to consumers, claiming that they can access movies on the Playstation network .
The Company said that they have been forced to rebuilding its PlayStation Network to bring it back online after an "external intrusion" caused it to suspend the service.
The network that is currently closed indefinitely has bee3n down since last Wednesday. At first Sony said that that there was a "minor problem". This escalated into an investigate of what was described as an" external intrusion".
Then on Thursday night the company who are tipped to report big losses next month said that it could take a "full day or two" to get the service back up and running.
On Saturday, the company said in a blog post that it was "working around the clock" to bring the services back online.
In Australia Sony customers are unable to access the Companies gaming, movie, and Qriocity music services.
Sony has not explained why they were not operating a backup system that could be restored in hours and not days after the hacker group Anonymous gave the Company a clear warning days out from the network being taken down that they were targeting Sony and their Playstation operation.
One observer said "It looks like Sony did not take the hackers serious. I believe that they are trying to install a new security system around their Playstation network. It will be interesting to see how long it takes to be hacked again".

So is piracy. So I should be mad at McDonald's when they take away the Mcrib. Is that stealing too???
Microsoft products get hacked too. IF you are an engineer you should know people learn how to hack things. Viruses get past antivirus software. You can't use hindsight as the basis of an argument.

Do you think sony would do such a thing?
Sony weren't hacked I know a guy who works there in England.
I agree with that guy in the video said... completely agree with him, i mean im still going to use sony products,etc... but other then that sony deserved it for having such a shitty security base... and not telling the truth... so yeah.
