Sony’s PlayStation Network has been down since last Wednesday and, though the company has revealed minor updates, most of the situation remains in the dark. With no fix date in sight, Sony has only told the public that a fix is coming, that the service was hacked, and they are currently reworking the network and the infrastructural design of the service. It now appears Sony will address the issue once more within the next hour.
According to BBC’s Rory Cellan-Jones, Sony will issue a statement on the status of PSN around 7PM (assumed to be London time) or within the next 30mins to hour. Yesterday, Sony gave a vague update on the service but provided no additional details on the topic. If Sony is to address the matter within the next 30minutes or so, hopefully they’ll share a fix date, whether personal information was taken, and answers to many other highly asked questions.
An official PSN update is expected soon. We’ll keep you updated as it happens.
