they were saying about the information was compromised, personal info, card details etc.

Sony then stated that credit card details were encrypted unlike personal info. so they would have to decrypt it which god knows how long would take.

All of the data was protected, and access was restricted both physically and through the perimeter and security of the network. The entire credit card table was encrypted and we have no evidence that credit card data was taken.

Then and thing they mentioned was that they never asked us for our Security code, which in most things using your card you need, and you need a varification password too at checkouts online.

Keep in mind, however, that your credit card security code (sometimes called a CVC or CSC number) has not been obtained because we never requested it from anyone who has joined the PlayStation Network or Qriocity, and is therefore not stored anywhere in our system.

anyways click source for the full post, maybe this'll stop all the fear mongering and stop people thinking OMG they have my details and out of 77+ Million accounts they are going to choose me and steal money.

Really just man up, if anything happens like that it would be delt with seriously and you will get your money back, things like this can sorted nowdays.

Please dont not flame me as im only trying to clear the fear which loads of people are deluded in.

yeah true that, gives then a forced push to do something i suppose.

but i dunno what the deal is with people, it takes a few clicks to order a new bank card and then it'll make alot of work for someone to take money without raising any suspicion

Exactly. Nowdays, a call from the bank can get you refunds from everything..

That fake btw Winky Winky
Not somebody from sony just a user posting it on a forum

Anywho
If they did this just cause they could and did not take the data nothing to worry about. From what it looks like that what happened. Sony does not know yet if any data been taken. Still looking into it.
However if they taken the data and wanted to use it then problem time.......

All i know it a PR problem for sony with users feeling they waited too long but they told you 1 day after they knew about this. Once the firm they called in had looked at it.
