So was the "credit card" table really encrypted?

Rumors are following thru various underground "credit card" trading forums, and on the new #psnhack twitter list that a large section of the PSN database containing complete personal details along with over 2.2million working credit card numbers with the much-needed CVV2 code are being offer up for sale to the highest-bidder, after the "hackers" tried to sell the DB back to Sony for a price, but they of course didn't answer!

Do a barrel roll!
No offense man but Sony hold back all they knew about the information theft that was going on, i wouldnt doubt that sony is just scared of a massive suit. Besides Sony said that it was also possible that thieves could have obtained the credit cards which means that they are covering that option in case that someones is like "hey what the hell happened" when they see their bank info... Sony has been doing all the wrong moves this days. I certainly hope that this didn't happened though

Obviously credit card details were stolen, how can Sony know or not know, of course they know, they just said they "may" have stolen them to save their asses. So if they are stolen, Sony can say "we told you they MAY have been stolen"....even though they already know.

I'm though with PSN this generation.

U MAD BRO?
Lets say this is true. Then diddnt this hack get out of control?
They wanted to get back @ sony for sue'ing people as George 'GeoHot' andwhateverhissurenameis.

And now their trying to make money from CC from people who just bought an PS3 and bought an few games in the store because they tought it was fun..
Their 'hurting' innocent people, and for all i know thats not what they where out for.
They wanted to get sony back and they did, PSN is down for over an week now and maby another week, it costs them lots of money to fix this.

For the 'hacking community' ive been in, such as iPhone and PS3 ive never seen someone makeing money from it, because they do/did it because they loved it and liked to help other people.

Its good that they caught sony to show them what they can do with their systems, but they shouldnt get it to far.. Because its also an criminal issue if you do so.

What u want Sony to say?

"He Guys, ure Credit Card has been stolen, yeaah sucks GL with it."

Their running an official billion bussines not an childerens company.
They cant afford to say something else then they did because they did tell you the truth that ure CC MAY have been stolen and they have said that u should watch ure bank account @ all time for any weird activities. They cant make e-mails personal because i never used an CC on PSN but i still got the same mail as everyone else.

Everybody is blameing Sony for what happened, NO you shouldnt.. As my post above the hackers went to far, i mean i understand they wanted to get back @ sony for all the hackers been sued, and im behind that but not behind CC theft.
Sony should have had an better security yes, but the hackers would have found an way anyhow so..
