More & more rumors are coming to a stop while Sony is releasing more & more information by the hour about the Playstation Network outage.

You've seen quite a few threads about people saying they've had money stolen from their credit card, right? Well, wrong. If there was a massive breach in credit card information that had anything to do with Sony, they wouldn't hesitate to ask the bank that is associated with that credit card. But, a source has called both Bank of America and Chase, asking if there has been any calls from Sony regarding these massive breaches in credit card information, yet both customer service representatives say they haven't had any contact with Sony since the reports came in about the credit card theft.

The source is Patrick Klepekk, here you can see his You must login or register to view this content., or you can just read it here.

Regarding rumors Sony may have notified banks days ahead of disclosing today’s revelations to the public, I have since contacted customer service representatives at both Bank of America and Chase. I personally have accounts at both financial firms and the representatives claimed to have received no information from Sony about a mass breach of credit information.

This being said, your credit card information is supposedly safe, but I'd still disable your credit card from your Playstation Network until it is confirmed that the problem has been cleared.

That's exactly what I was thinking when I read the article by the OP...

If people are lying about having their credit card information stolen, let alone money, you'd think Sony would look into that RIGHT AWAY.

I went to my bank today, after everyone in the bank laughed about my email address I told them why I wanted a new card and everything, the manger asked about what site and I said Sony. He was like "yeah I heard about that, wasn't to sure tho...Will have to change mine."(he was younger)

I prefer waiting a week or two for a new card compared to it actually being stolen and waiting 60 days for a refund.

The groan & thanks button got removed in the process of vB4, not sure if it'll be added in.

So all you can do is rep people with the little sheriff star.

But at the same time, that information can be obtained by anyone with access to a phonebook.. so it's not really that "private" to begin with.

Except nobody is gay enough to go look through a phone book. And it defeats the purpose if you have to go though each person, point is they got everyone and thats the bullshit of it. All because SONY was lazy enough to have all of our information just laying there, plain text
