I was trying to restore bluray playback on my unit and in the process somehow turned off the whole drive. Now it will take discs in the blue light goes steady showing the drive knows its there but I get no icons on the xmb for the disc at all tried on all media forms I can think of no disc shows up. Does anyone have any ideas on how to recover dev_flash2 and dev_flash3 since those are the ones they had us replacing when trying to restore bluray?

Looks like you would need help from Sony on this, how about restoring everything back to factory settings?

Thanks for the suggestion, I tried that last night I did the Restore File System, Rebuild Data Base & Restore PS3 System. None of them fixed the problem. The only thing I have not tried at this point is a deep format of the hard drive though I don't know if that would help per say given the issue is more then likely in the dev_flash1 and 2 or the drive itsself. What I really need is a copy of the dev_flash1 and dev_flash2 from another cech01 so I can make sure they are correct.

try and ask if someone will copy their files for you to try. restoring your hard drive just erases everything.

dead blu ray player..? u can buy a blu ray 4 ur ps3 for .. $89 happened to me on my 80g
