(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); Okay so I've seen many posts around the forum of people asking for this function. I don't believe it's necessary so I'll just share some points of MY thoughts about the topic.
1.
It is obviously going to create havoc between the community...
Take this as an example. Ok my psn is Harbz2011 say I change it to something else, but then change my mind and do not like my new ID. I try to change it back but I get told my OLD username is currently in use... I have a funny feeling that will cause distress to all

2.
It isn't really necessary. There are a lot more concerning functions that Sony must add into PSN. Quite frankly you should have chosen the definate username you would like to use for PSN when you first signed up...

3.
It's quite possible you will lose track of your friends. Unless there's a function informing you of all the name changes you won't know who's who... If there isn't that function then nobody is really going to be assed to send a message to all your friends list stating that you've changed your ID. It will just piss people off...

Feel free to disagree or agree with me.. These are just my thoughts about it.

This is BAd thinking.

If sony would like to add this feature into there systems, "which they already have" Creating an account on a japanese account, you have the option to change your PSNID as a secondary format. Your primary PSN will be the original PSNID, but the Secondary PSNID will display to others on your friends list.

If they added the feature to change your primary PSNID, they will not do this for free. They would install a curency system, so to change your name, you would have to pay $5 etc.. Its the same as xbox!

It is a good system, but it is not needed.
