The Playstation Network has been down for a week, and Sony sent word today of a free gift to all users of the PSN. Find out after the break how it's more of a hook than a gift.
For the past week, owners of a Playstation 3 console have been a little sad from not being able to access the Playstation Network. Today, Sony sent word that all users of the Playstation Network would be receiving a free gift of the Playstation Plus subscription for thirty days.
While this was initially good news, we noticed that quite a few gamers were excited at the prospect of receiving free content from that subscription. After looking into the terms of the agreement from joining Playstation Plus, it's noted that you're only able to access that content while being a member of that service. If you choose to not continue that service, the content that you downloaded during that time will be unvailable until you choose to be a member again.

We're a little disappointed in Sony with this news, as we would have hoped to see the Playstation Plus thirty day membership come with something small as well that could be permanently enjoyed. For those of you who already have a Playstation Plus membership, you'll be receiving a free thirty days on your current subscription.
What do you think about Sony's decision to give members a thirty day membership for free to Playstation Plus? Are you annoyed that you won't be able to use that content after it expires?:wtf::wtf:
