(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); Check out the performance of Sony's stock in the last month. Only a 2 point drop since the outage, and the stock was actually up a bit on Friday. I really think there might have been more urgency on the part of Sony had Wall street punished them for the negative press they received the last 3 weeks. I'm guessing that future sales of PS3 items will suffer in the short term, but do you really think Sony will learn from this. Look what happened to BP after it's disaster last year, the stock has almost completely recovered.

Thoughts on on how Sony will handle this moving forward??

I say they will recover as long as there is no big fraud.

i cant see no psn affecting ps3 sales all that bad

ps3 can do so much more in terms of console function and features

psn is a free bonus and its what made me spend £250 instead of £150 on an xbox

You don't understand how the stock market works do you? Or how gaming works? Sony doesn't set the price for games, and charging more would only cause their stocks to go down more.

Anyways, I am surprised that their stock didn't drop too much, especially after the report that they were going to lose billions. I'd sell any stock I had in a company that was set to lose billions, no matter what the reason is for that loss.

You do not know economics at all do you? this is just the general fall and rise of stocks. playstation network being down will not affect sony in its stocks. /facepalm

LOL...I have an economics degree, so I can safely say I understand economics. Any negative news affects stock prices (along with a million other factors), and the media definitely plays a role in the fluctuations of a stock price. The recent news definitely contributed to the recent dip in price, but Sony gets revenue from so many area's this event might not hurt them as much as people might think. I was just very surprised that they did not take a bigger hit based on the negative media and their inability to remedy the problem sooner. I was interested in hearing the opinion of other people on the subject, but it appears that you are the one who does not understand economics (unless you have more in site on the subject other than making baseless statements.)
