Everybody knows it's unfair how all of us have to wait for the Playstation Network to be restored, & Sony knows this. Sony also knows that people are assuming the new update will be a disaster, like something nobody will value, but think again!

For you EU gamers, Sony is giving you four free PSN games for their 'welcome back' program for all members, but that's not the only thing Sony will be giving you!

Sony is granting the PSN users' wishes, such as cross-game chat & video-chat, which we all know has been being demanded since the early stages of the Playstation Network alone. There are several other features like this also, but some won't be released right off the bat, while others will be right when PSN goes up.

“As we are rebuilding the network, we are taking into consideration implementing features such as cross-game-chat and in-game video chat to name a few. I cannot confirm any new features at this time but expect a massive update when the network is restored.”

There will also be updates along the lines of XMB, & things that are like that.

But of course, here's a list of other things you should be expecting once the Playstation Network is restored:

• Restoration of Online game-play across the PlayStation®3 (PS3) and PSP® (PlayStation®Portable) systems
• This includes titles requiring online verification and downloaded games
• Access to Music Unlimited powered by Qriocity for PS3/PSP for existing subscribers
• Access to account management and password reset
• Access to download un-expired Movie Rentals on PS3, PSP and MediaGo
• PlayStation®Home
• Friends List
• Chat Functionality

I wanted to personally reach out and let you know that we are committed to serving you to the very best of our ability, protecting your information better than ever, and getting you back to what you signed up for – all the games and great entertainment experiences that you expect from Sony,” said Sir Howard Stringer in a letter of apology to PSN users.

So, Sony promises all of you that you won't be disappointed with the new PSN, & they apologize for the extended inconvenience.

Remember that stupid rumour about PSN being live in Japan? I dont believe anything or anyone right now, untill I see visual proof of what Sony's actions are.

Sorry if you posted it, but I can't check all the pages (and it isn't on your OP)

Not quite.

The quote:

That's all it says. It may or may not come.

The list:

I see nothing here relating to cross game chat. The only thing close to it is chat functionality; which most likely refers to the text chat we've always had

PS: Anyone that knows me knows I despise posting 'old', but since it's not the only thing I posted....this quotes/info is quite old. If you had confirmed it, it would've been new. Again, I don't mean to offend you, I just don't see what the sudden fuss is about; everyone going crazy because you confirmed it with this:

Chat Functionality is Video Chat, Cross-Game Chat, things around those lines. Sorry for the late reply.

But how do you know that? How do you know that chat functionality doesn't mean text chat? And no problem. I'm sorry for all the skepticism, but I think we all know we have to be like this with anything regarding PSN for the past weeks.

I honestly will not believe this until Sony says it themselves...Remember, cross game chat is copyrighted by Microsoft...maybe they found something around that, but I highly doubt it.

Thanks for the answer Smile

Yeah dude, I just write news, haha. I rarely look into information regarding an article of mine.

Not saying I believe everything I read, of course. But very interesting.

Are you high?
They are just putting it into consideration. I think some people interpret that as it's confirmed that we are going to get cross-game chat ect. I doubt Sony will do it. They are just saying these things to make the wait less painful and to try to keep people from going to Xbox 360.
If they have already changed the date in which PSN is supposed to up, they will probably change what we are going to get when PSN is actually up.

I can't really trust Sony right now. But I am staying loyal.

Exactly what the name states. Cross game chat; you can voice chat with a friend/friends while you play COSad Awesome BO and another of your friends is playing LBP2 and the other 2k11, etc (of course, you can also chat with people playing the same game, which would only have a point if the game doesn't support voice chat or if you aren't on the same lobby)

It's kinda the most important thing on the XBOX Live vs PSN fight...if we get it, PSN will be basically the same as Live, just free. Of course, some people state Live's connection is superior to PSN's, but for me they are the same.

PS: Xbox Live users usually refer to it as "party chat" (because that's the name MS put for it)

Hope I helped Smile

This is my exact same opinion, 100% spot on of what I'm thinking about this whole situation.
