it depends, could be the blu-ray drive, could just be a dirty lens. see if it will read dvds and do you have a warranty?

Alri pal ive been there done that got the t-shirt im betting hes on one of the older ps3's i went through 3 of them luckily my warrenty coverd me its a well know fact the older models had a lot of fails with the biuray drive slims dont seem to have the problem
