(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); If I'm playin for more then 10 mins COD Black Ops the Ps3 shuts down ! Anyone got help ?

If I'm playin COD 4 then there is no problem because in my eyes COD 4 does not need so much RAM ! The red light is blinkin I dont know how many times but without a yellow light so it's no YLOD.
The ventilation is not really going fast when it's overheating ! So there could be a problem with the cooling system because it's really gettin warm arround the Ps3.

Thanks in advance for any help and don't flame please I'm no Amercian or English guy so my language isn't with a high vocabulary so don't flame guys !!!

PEACE

if it happens because its overheating , try this
1) turn off your ps3 by holding power button
2)turn off the main switch on back (or pull out the power cable if u have a slim ps3)
3)hold the eject button and turn the main switch back on( or put the power cable back on if on slim)
4)keep holding eject button until it beeps three times and the fan starts working at a high speed
5)this will clear out dust and will put your fan back on track

this also helps to eject a disc if ur disc drive doesnt work

hope i helped

Well, black ops is using "shader 3.0" more then cod 4...

You must login or register to view this content.

As you can see, left is using shader 2.0 and right uses shader 3.0.
3.0 ask's waaaaaaaaaaaaaay more graphical power then 2.0. It's the dumbass light effects which i hate. It makes me think im playing a game in a condom shell...

The fan should power up along with the heating. More heat is more fan power.

I suggest you go buy some quality paste and replace the old paste on the cpu etc.
Here's a tutorial on how to do that:
You must login or register to view this content.

After that, replace the cooling fan... Make sure the cooling fan has 19 blades and not 15.

Mine is also doing this after fixing the ylod on it so far ive fixed it 4 times in the last 3 days and same problem first started as the blank screen error which was caused by my TV.

I notice when i took it apart the power box (next to Bluray drive) was really hot hotter than normal.

once fixed i get about an hour out of it before this happens i used an high heat therma heatsink but still did it

I will try the eject button thing later to see if that makes a difference but will have to take it apart yet again to fix the ylod

You shouldnt replace the heatsink... Keep the original in it. Airflow you know... You could connect the fan to a pc and see how fast it can go via software and via that way you can find out if its broken(in rpm conditions)

I really think your cooling is messed up... Do not, do not, DO NOT underestimate airflow's... Especially with consoles... Keep it is it is. This sound silly but put the ps3 in a refigurator which doesnt have ice in it and see wht happens then... Keep feeling the cooling fins if its spreading the heat correctly.

Ps putting in a refigurator etc is own risk. Not responsible for any damage that may happen Smile

I only replaced the heatsink because i fixed the ylod without reapplying it twice before and it was looking well not good so i brought some high silver heat reducing heatsink.

i had a feelling it might be a fan issue

i will give it only last chance and to try the fan fix and see how i go
