When i turned it on i wondered why it was taking so long to start up and then a message popped up saying ps3 cannot start hardisk cannot be found. So i went on youtube and google and they said to try to go to recovery mode. So i did and it still shows the message and wont even go to recovery mode. They also said to take out the hard drive and put it back in so i did that and it still didnt work. So if i buy a new hard drive for my ps3 will it work because i dont wanna call sony or buy a new ps3. Pleassssssssssssssssssssssssssse help me i really wanna go back on ps3

HDD crashed i think.
Put it in a PC (via sata cable) and format it to a ntfs file system.
After that, run a chkdsk on that drive: Start - this computer - right click the drive - property's - extra - check for errors. <- could be different since i am on a dutch window's. If it finds problems, it will fix it. After that pop it into the ps3 and reformat it using recovery menu.
You probably have some bad sector's in the harddrive and they need to be repaired.

If your pc doesnt recognize the drive it's already messed up. I can fix it, but not via a forum etc, i have my own tools for it.

If that fails, you can buy a new harddrive. Has to be a 2.5"(inch) laptop harddrive S-ATA. Format that with recovery menu and you are good to go.
