i've repaired mine fully, after sticking a knife into it to get a disc back ( i know, horrific to hear)
Is your problem just to do with the disc spinning ? it takes it in and ejects okay?
and do you have it fully reassembled or what? i left the casing of mine off so i could troubleshoot easier

sounds like your drive is screwed it may have to be replaced
