(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); Okay so this has been going on for a few weeks already. Whenever I insert a game it makes a weird noise and it wont show up on the game menu.

What can be wrong with it?I don't want to open it just yet unless I really have to.

I tried inserting a DvD in and it loads fine. It's just the games. Can some please reply. Will + rep for any helpful info.

Other threads didn't help so...

Your blue ray player is broken. Lots of people get this problem after a while, but unfortunately: there is nothing you can do about it, besides replacing it for a large few.
You can still play PSN games, hopefully you're on custom firmware ..

Thanks I guess! I'm just hoping what you say it's not true! :( I want to play Black Ops on my PS3 again but unfortunately they don't got Black Ops on sale on the PSStore. And no I'm no longer on Custom Firmware.

it could be broke yes, but mine has done the same thing before(would read dvd's and cd's but not games). i took it apart cleaned the lens with a q-tip and a tiny bit of rubbing alcohol, worked fine ever since. dont do this if you have any sort of warranty though, this is a last resort Winky Winky good luck bro.
also if you need instructions just google or youtube it :y:

Thanks I guess I'll try and open it since the warranty expired a few weeks after this happened!Hopefully I get to fix it or I'll have to stay on the XBOX 360.

just be real careful the first time you take it apart, take it slow Winky Winky and try to find a video tutorial for it :y:
side note: if people smoke in your house then more than likely cleaning the lens will solve your problem Winky Winky
also your gonna find a LOT!!!!!! of dust too...
good luck :y:

Yep thats what i tried 1st was to clean the lens with alcohol and a cotton bud(what a waste of good vodka!),it lasted for roughly 2 weeks so i bought the new laser instead.

Like NooFag says,be extra careful when dismantling...there are some tiny screws that can be easily lost.

Have you tried looking here too for a solution? You must login or register to view this content.
