You can't lose them! If you couldn't download, you can redownload from your VIEW DOWNLOADS button in top right of PSN store.

You can also go into Account Management and see how many remaining games you have left. I downloaded one game, got error on 2nd game, then I couldn't even access the free games at all so I looked through A.M and it said I had one remaining....

Did you click on PlayStation Promotions from somewhere in Account Management, it should say how many games you have remaining left to download and then from there it takes you to the PS Store and the 5 games you can choose.
