I wish, but in order for that they need to put in the hardware, it can't come in an update That's why there are still PS3s that are backwards compatible.

The Graphics Synthesizer will put costs of the PS3 up so the price will go up and it'd be a mistake seeing as 360 is going cheaper.

Besides your PS2 save datas are on the PS2 so just use a PS2 and its not as tho 360 plays ALL Xbox games and properly at that. I've played a PS2 game once on my PS3 and that was GTA San Andreas 4 years ago.
