Those ways are the best more permanent ways, but if you want a cheap temporary fix; wrap your PS3 in towels then put a hair dryer to it for no more than 15 minutes or it will melt it.

Honestly, you can get a decent heat gun for $25. Most "good" repairs that offer "reball" services charge more than $80-$90 to fix. Though the reball is the "permanent" repair versus the reflow method.
