Before any of you guys say it's been posted already, i know that a "guide" is stikied but I didn't find it really helpful, and i think there are some others out there with the same problem. My case is that when i put my copy of GTA4[boought 4/29/08] the loading circle keeps going. about a week ago, i decided to eemail SONY about this and i was sent the following which helped me a great deal.

After deleting the game data, go into Safe Mode and select option 3 (Restore File System). The information below will assist you in accessing Safe Mode.

If this is unsuccessful, access Safe Mode again and choose option 5 (Restore PS3™ system). Note: this does delete all data from the PS3™, so you may want to back up your data before performing this step. If you have done all the troubleshooting steps and your games are still freezing, the PS3™ will need to be repaired. Service information is included in the troubleshooting links above.

This helped me fix my problem.
