(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); Well I'm borrowing my brother's banned Ps3 to play inFamous and Red Dead Redemption. But for some reason, the Ps3 overheats whenever I tried to play them. The red light blinks and it shows a notification to turn off the Ps3 for a while. I'm in a cool room with 2 fans pointing towards the Ps3 but the problem still happens.
Anyway, can anyone recommend a good Ps3 intercooler for a FAT 40gb Ps3 original?

Thanks for the link but it's unavailable. Smile I'm looking for one that's less than $20Smile

Replace the thermal paste when you open it as well. Seems the heat is not sinked and distributed properly. To test, put the PS3 flat, then turn it upside down (Blue ray upside down, horizontal), see if it takes longer to overheat. This might sound silly, but heat rises, and if you put the PS3 just flat as normal, the heat sinks are at the bottom of the chips. If this gets a marginally longer time before overheating, just replace the thermal paste and you should be golden for a while.

It's overheating due to an excessive amount of dust in the PS3. It's old and probably sat in the same place for a while. The fans pointing at the PS3 aren't helping either. All they're doing is blowing more dust into the system. Try taking the PS3 apart and getting a small and weak vacuum and suck the dust out of the system. Be careful when doing this though.
