(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); JFW = Jaicrab Firmware

Okay guys maybe the ps3 scene isn't dead after all Awesome face. The well known PS3 dev jaicrab has posted information on his blog about a new project he is working on, which seems to be a brand new CFW, this firmware will probably only be 3.55, so don’t get excited about a 3.60/3.65 release.

New Features of the cfw:

  1. Startup Plugins Manager.
  2. Multi tasking apps/Apps running while doing something else.(For Example: FTP while playing)
  3. Payload load before entering XMB. Free Cobra Payload…

What these mean:

Startup Plugins Manager - This could mean anything from being able to dual boot cfw and ofw to awesome cheats for gameslike cwcheat for PSP

Multi-tasking - This could be FTPing into your PS3 while playing COD Winky Winky or listening to music while playing FIFA :run:

Payload load before entering XMB - The best of the lot, simply take a look at cobra usb site. This is awesome and with cobra usb's v2 update it will mean ps2 ISO support.

And that's not all that he posted, it's assumed that he also posted the hex keys belonging to the Cobra Dongle.

Well, you could have at least changed the hash tables from PSGroove.
Keep selling all the SCENERS’ knowledge.

Hopefully he can pull of what Dark_Alex did with the PSP and implement Plugins within a pre-boot Recovery Menu to enable features such as Screen-shots and Music plugins.

The PSP could do some amazing stuff, but the PS3 has so much more potential.

As skyline said I say the plugins was the greatest feature about the psp. Its CFW got psn access with a plugin doubt it would be that simple with the ps3 but it will bring more hope for some ppl. I personally would like the music plugins and the cintro plugins on the psp.
