If you had the same account on both ps3s, you could data transfer the save, without corruption, but you wouldn't have the platinum. You would still have to earn the trophies over again.

Trophies are synced online if you're connected to PSN or just data transfer if the PS3's aren't connected to PSN.

That's right, but I'm assuming the ps3 he is using, that has the platinum on, is on custom firmware, so he cannot sync it. Otherwise, why would he want to put it onto another ps3, when he could just sync with the server? :confused:.
