I looked online but of course it dosn't tell you. Anyone know where they still have 3.41 or any FW up to 3.55? Or are the not shipping those out anymore.

Local game store, just ask for the oldest ps3 they have.

Or even you can ask on places like Gamestop, some of the oldest are the ones refurbished or pre-owned, so you can tell that they going to be more cheap and if you are lucky get the one with those FW.

Just a local store. Don't bother with Ebay or Craigslist. Just get a new one for the same (usually cheaper) price than those selling theirs online. Ask what firmware it is on. If they ask why just say you want 3.55 or lower so you can get Linux.

you can always get one at 3.55 now and downgrade to pretty much what ever firmware you want as long as it not brought new because qa flagging only let you downgrade to the firmware ps3 came with just thought i give you a heads up
