(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); So I let one of the free games download over night(little big planet) and that has caused something strange to happen to my ps3. It won't shut off unless I hit the switch in the back and when it boots up it says that my hard drive is corrupted and it will restore it. It reaches 100% yet all of my games are now gone, I have no contacts on my psn account and when I try to play a game from a disk it doesn't load. What happened? How do I fix this?

Have you went to recovery mode yet? If not, then do so. Select "Rebuild Database". Let me know if it works for ya mate.

Follow this video if you are unsure on how to get to recovery mode. Then select the option "Rebuild Database". (Option 3 I think)

What?!?! How did this happen?!?! All I did was leave it on one night so I could download a game...if I factory restore it, will it be able to work again? I hate losing everything but its worse if I don't have a ps3 anymore!

Dude sometimes the HDDs just go out. It happens. Sometimes heat, dust, or long use can cause them to go out even quicker. You can try to restore it to factory, but I highly doubt it will work. I am 99.99999% sure you just need a new HDD.

Luckily...I just let it sit for a day. It didn't work but then I formatted it and now everything seems to be okay so far. Thanks for your help man.
