(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); Ok so i was playing Black Ops Multiplayer and my mate sent a message for Resident Evil 5 so left game and press PS button, as i press this the whole console freezes and wont respond to anything! So I press the power button and hold it down till shuts off, then I came to reload the console to play Resident Evil 5, I notice no game was showing where the disk icon should be! This starts my anger on 2X XP day!

Anybody know how to fix?

Also to add when i do place a disk in the console the Blu-Ray drive takes the disk, then after about 45 seconds starts a eject then takes the disk again, and still wont load!

same with fat ps3 !!

Looks like something might be wrong with your blue ray drive also are you talking about when you are in a game someone sends you a message or invite or something of that sort and you press the PS Home button and your screen like freezes in the loading station and you cant move or do anything but ur system isnt frozen yet well if so thats not just your system lets say 99.9% of Ps3 do that ive bought like 4 ps3 New and they all do the same thing It mostly does this when you have alot of data taken up or tons of messages but its not just your ps3 and.... about your game not being able to be played the best thing to do is go to a Professional Computer shop/store and half the time theyll know exactly what it is or if u have a warranty use that. try using a lens cleaning cd or something or do a system restore

Did a system restore and full format last night, worked fine for one game of Black Ops, soon as the game ended and the Black loading screen was on the console froze again, as it reboots wont load disks again.

Rang Sony they said Blu-Ray drive was on its way out, they want £131 to replace, or I can get a new Blu-ray laser of eBay for £55, i think Sony don't want the customers.

yea try the recovery mode and choose rebuild database it might be a software problem bec mine done that a couple times and it fixed the problem but if you have a warranty i would say send it in because my blue ray drive stopped ejecting disc but it still reads the one i have stuck in there and the manual eject wont help

Things you could do..

1. Replace Blu-Ray Drive as it might be broken.
2. Try System Restore.
3. Try cleaning out the PS3, including the LASER that reads disc's. Try looking around here, youtube or google for a tutorial.
4. Put it on EBAY for spares or repairs then use the money towards a new one.
5. Put it on EVAY for breaking parts and sell parts of it, if you know how to take it apart then use the money to get a new one.

Already know the problem, its the blu-ray drive and already sourced a replacement part and going to be repairing as soon as it arrives, Thanks for help tho :y:

When u r replacing ur blueray drive u need to be very careful ncause if u mess it up bad then non of ur controllers will work or anything that is used as a controller will work.
