Simple solution to this is to shut down the PS3 by holding in the power button (or using the controller) and put it into standby mode. Hold the power button down for 5 seconds or untill it beeps twice. This way completely resets the video settings to the most basic settings (480p I think) so that it'll work on any TV or monitor.

Or another way you could reset it would be to. Turn your ps3 on and press:

Left 4 times
Down 10 times
X twice

Then

x twice for HDMI
Down and x twice for Component / D-Terminal
Down twice and x twice for composite / S-video
Down three and x twice for AV Multi / Scart

This may seem very simple but alot of people do not know about it. :p
