(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); Okay so. i got a 40gb ps3 and i tried updating to 3.66 from the ps3. and i got half way through and i get an error and it says restart and try again. and when i restarted it was stuck on the update screen and i get the same error. it wont even let me cancel the update.
any help? thanks...

1. Download the 3.66 Firmware You must login or register to view this content..
   
2. Create a folder named “PS3” on the storage media or USB device. Within the PS3 folder, create a folder named "UPDATE".
   
3. Save the downloaded firmware in step 1 in the "UPDATE" folder.
   
4. Be sure to save the update the exact way I told you. If the data is not saved in the correct way, the PS3™ system will not recognize the update data. The folder name must be in all uppercase letters.
   
5. Do not turn off the PS3™ system or remove the storage media or USB device during an update. If an update is cancelled before completion, the system software may become damaged, and the system may require servicing or exchange.
   
6. Insert the storage media or USB device that contains the update data in the PS3 system.
   
7. From the home menu, select (Settings) > (System Update), and then press the X button.
   
8. Select [Update via Storage Media], and then press the X button.
   
9. The system automatically searches for and finds the update data saved on the storage media or USB device. Start the update.
   
10. Press the X button to start the update. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the update.
    
11. After the update has been completed, go to (Settings) > (System Settings) > [System Information].
    
12. If the [System Software] field displays the version number of the update, the update was successful.

It could be you have a faulty firmware installed if your on 3.65 go to system recovery and reinstall 3.65 then try to install 3.66

as soon as i turn on my ps3 it goes to the update screen and i cant cancel.

This happend to me too i can sony and it is stuck in some kind of loop and that i would have to send it in

try the system recovery menu try all the setting till it works.?
