My PS3 has been freezing up alot lately and whenever I try installing map packs to black ops it takes forever...any ideas on how i could fix either of these problems? :confused:

Watch this video to access recovery mode and do both restore file system and rebuild file system. See if that helps.

yall probably have to much downloaded on your ps3 or you have slow internet
