This mod by Varicela has been designed most likely with the intent of using them to finally break the dualboot firmware barrier. It is compatible with the infectus chip(and named appropriately), with some added sockets to connect it and specific compatibility and specialization for 256MB NAND PS3s (sorry slim owners).


To explain why it was made I will quote PS3Crunch:



If you've just tuned in recently, the ability to dualboot would mean running Custom FirmWare (CFW) and official FirmWare (OFW) on the same system. This announcement is particularly interesting as the creator Varicela was the first to successfully execute a downgrade on a 3.56+ console. If anyone has a fighting chance at dual booting to work, it would be this developer.

With the recent flood of hardware mods one could imagine it wouldn't be long before someone strikes gold. When this mod is out of WIP (Work In Progress) and ready for release, you'll see it here at psx-scene.com

Man. Nice update. But sadly I have a slim. But Im already on 3.55 so Im waiting for dual-boot.

i have 2 ps3s but my phat ps3 blows

:dumb: I was not counting my two regular ps3s both slims. One for transfer patches & the other is just my game sharing ps3.
