So i looked on youtube and found this tutorial of how to get it out if you have a working blu ray drive but just have the yellow light of death.
I just thought i would post on here as this is mainly a gaming website and i looked on here before going to youtube so i thought at least a couple of people would too.This is not my video and i did not find this out, i just found the video



EDIT: Supposedly this only works for newer models and not the 60gb, but i would still try it.

This wont work for the 60GB launch model though. This is to enable the fan test on the newer models, giving you the opportunity to quickly eject the disc.

Not sure about the 40GB, i have a 60GB which was bought when the PS3 launched which is a YLOD menace. On this one it definately dont work.

get a hammer and hit ur ps3 hard but not too hard on the back and it will spit it out glad i helped

Do the blowdryer trick to fix your ylod and when you buy your new ps3 use both for CLs

thats what i was going to do but then it got ylod and im not too famillar with the blowdryer trick, could you post a thread that tells me how to do it in your reply? if i cant get it too work im just going to sell on craigslist so i can get a hdpvr.

Do you always keep your PS3 there? If so it's not a surprise you got YLOD.

Youtube fix ylod with blow dryer. You put your ps3 in a sweater and make the fans face you (don't cover the fans with sweater) Blowdry the fans on hot for 15 minutes back and forth, put it outside or on a air conditioned vent for 20 minutes then it will work.

I had one like that before this 2 Ps3 thing came out I smashed the ylod when I got a new ps3 -.-
